BlackSwanSongs.com is the blog of the Black Swan, a man of many aliases. Black Swan has also adopted the monikers Morpha2Small, Modlang and V.M. Black. The name on his birth certificate is still unknown.
Black Swan has more than 20 years of music experience performing and recording on acoustic and electric bass guitar, violin, drums and singing. Black Swan has performed in more than 10 rock bands including Norushi Minx, bo bud greene, The Fuck Emos, Hidden Speaker and Schatzi. His bands have toured with and opened for various musical acts all across the United States, including Superchunk, Hey Mercedes, at the drive-in, Shiner, Ultimate Fakebook, Ozma, The Promise Ring, Jimmy Eat World, Desaparecidos and Hilary Duff. The Black Swan has worked as a recording artist for various indie labels including Last Beat, Unclean, Redemption and Doghouse Records, as well as major labels such as Scotti Brothers and Hollywood/Mammoth Records (Walt Disney).
Additionally, Black Swan worked as a photojournalist for The Denver Post and the Austin American-Statesman. He continues to work as a freelance music journalist and an arts critic-at-large for the Austin American-Statesman. His photos and articles have been featured in various magazines and syndicated by Associated Press.
